Currency and Inventory

Originally I had not wanted currency or inventory (with the exception of special items) to be a feature in the game to allow players to make their characters however the feel. You could be a mad scientist or a rich genius or a homeless bum, and there wouldn't need to be any safeguards in place. However, several people have requested the addition of currency and inventory to the game. What do you want?

If currency and inventory is left to RP, the characters can be more free form and flexible.

If currency and inventory is added, things like technology might be removed from the powers section and instead would need to be added. Some things could be bought with money instead of Superhuman Points. (designed to be a catch-all metacurrency)

no to currency, since that is the superhuman points, but yes to inventory

I'd rather have neither. It would be more of a hassle to add money and inventory, and it would put more work on you Cyber, to make sure everyone has added or removed the right coins/items.

I don't think we need a currency, it does make things more complicated. Seems like it would be too much of a hassle too.

Meh... I could, but I'd rather not. If you wanna hardcore RP like that, play a pen and paper game with some people, or start a new site for it.

Inventory at least, that would make it nice because then we could improve our character and add stuff to their appearance, like I want to add a mask to my character but since I didn't think of that before I finished my character app. I do see what people mean by no money system because ths points are essentially that.

I'm against money simply because It'd be to hard to moderate dollars and would require a whole new infrastructure and doesn't grant many benefits that can't be covered by simply buying new Power Slots

Inventory I'm mixed on, what benefits would it grant short of the need to make a list of all the items I own?

I agree about money being restrictive. Now, I think we should use logic in that, if you've mentioned being broke in a recent post you shouldn't suddenly be buying everyone dinner, but I think it would be more fun if we had some charries who are loaded, and maybe some who are simply free-loading. lol. Whatever kind of money you give your characters is going to present its own challenges.

All right, I think we're just going to go as it is. RP wealth, and inventory is only for special items.
