Physical Description: Toby is about 5’10’ with dark green eyes and yellow blond hair, the bangs of which mop over his forehead, almost into his eyes. Although he is somewhat toned, he still manages to look wiry. Dr. Fensworth calls it the “Clark Kent” syndrome.
Costume: Toby usually wears faded blue jeans, brown suede sneakers, white socks, and a graphic t-shirt, usually depicting characters from a sci-fi series or video game. Usually Doctor Who or Zelda, though it can vary due to current interests. He carries a dark green messenger bag with the Hylian Crest on the front. He also wears a pair of black rimmed glasses. He refuses to wear contacts. Ever. He doesn’t do much to change his appearance when acting as Ztech. Mostly he just dons a lab, or trench coat. The latter, he says, makes him feel like the tenth Doctor. Dr. Fensworth is very quick to point out that, while the attempt is valiant, the result is failure.
Biography: Even as a young child, Tobias Schaeffer was quite the prodigy. He was an A+ student all through his schooling, and a wiz with a computer by the time he was six. His parents, computer physicists who worked for the D.O.T.E. were often busy, but still managed to find time for their son, and even allowed him to help out with missions from the D.O.T.E. All in all, things couldn’t have been better.
Toby’s world ended, however, one fateful night when his parents disappeared while working on a secret project for the D.O.T.E. That was when Toby was 13. He was then taken in by Dr. Fensworth, a colleague of his parents, who revealed that what they had been working on was a way to actually go inside a computer, and subsequently, the internet itself! Their project had obviously been a success, but there was no way, as yet for them to come back.
Toby spent the next three years aiding Dr. Fensworth in his search to finally perfect the project his parents had begun. He took jobs as a hero assistant on occasion, his advanced technical skills making him an asset to any team. When Dr. Fensworth finally perfected the nanites, Toby was overjoyed, feeling one step closer to finally rescuing his parents! Then, he found out some girl had managed to consume them. He was furious at first until Dr. Fensworth helped him realize that it could be for the better, as Digibyte.EXE might be able to help him find his parents. In exchange for this help, he offered her his services as a hero assistant, and became her official sidekick.
The internet is a large place, and there has been no luck as yet, but Toby still has hope that he will find his parents. Even now, however, he still sometimes spends late nights browsing the web, just for a hint of his parents
